Welcome to Bright Start Montessori

Bright Start Montessori Pre-School was established in 1991 by Mrs Michelle Steadman. Mrs Steadman has worked in the pre-school environment since 1988 and in a Montessori environment since gaining her Diploma with the London Montessori Centre in 1990.

Bright Start Montessori is a private Pre-School held in a spacious hall with additional small quiet rooms, the hall is set within two acres of woodland. We also have a patio and small garden, which is advantageous to nature studies and recreation.

The objective of the Nursery School is to provide a safe, happy, caring and challenging educational environment that develops in each child the self confidence and inner security to learn independently, to build a habit of concentration, initiative and persistence and to foster the Child's curiosity, love of learning and sense of order.

STAFFING

At Bright Start teachers, most of whom have been with us for a number of years, hold one or more of these qualifications:

We offer an open door policy for parents to communicate with their child's key-worker and members of the team.

VIEWING

Before enrolling your Child, it is important that you come along to meet the Directress and other Teachers and to see the Children at work. Please contact Mrs Steadman to make an appointment that is mutually convenient.

ADMISSION

Bright Start accepts Children between 2 and 5 years. The youngest being 2½ during the term which he/she starts.

SETTLING INTO PRE-SCHOOL

We operate Mini Montessori sessions during the summer holidays, these sessions will help to settle the Children into their new environment and promote confidence between Child / Teacher, Adult / Teacher. Children gradually learn to separate from their main carer for longer periods while still feeling safe and secure.

the child's progress does not depend only on his age, but also on being free to look around him
